A seatpost made of AL 6061 T6 DB is strong, because of the T6 treatment and light because of the aluminum alloy and it's double butted use.
Double Butted means that the seatpost has two different wall thicknesses by removing material where it is not needed and structurally reinforcing the high stress areas.
